Jewish healing centers help communities better meet the needs of Jews living with illness, loss and other significant life challenges. Centers vary in size and programming from community to community, but programs often include some of the following services:
- Training and support to local caring committees and bikur cholim groups (visiting the sick)
- Community-wide "friendly visitor" programs for Jewish hospital patients or nursing home residents
- Spiritual counseling and pastoral care
- Jewish spiritual support groups
- Training for clergy and health care professionals
- Community education
- Holiday programs
- Jewish healing services/circles in partnership with synagogues or JCC's
- Wellness programs such as Jewish meditation
- Partnership programs with other local communal organizations
- Resource library
- Information & referral to community resources
